Chris Kilmurry joined Lewiston Housing in July of 2019. Chris has nearly 20 years of affordable housing experience and is responsible for the organization’s strategic direction, including the development of new affordable housing in Lewiston and overall operations. He is responsible for overseeing all agency operations ranging from administration of the Section 8 voucher program to property management and maintenance for Lewiston Housing’s owned portfolio.

Chris has held leadership positions with two national, nonprofit developers and owners of affordable housing, The Community Builders, Inc. and POAH Communities, located in Boston, Massachusetts, and one regional organization, Avesta Housing, Portland, Maine.

Chris earned a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in International Business Management from the University of Vermont. He has his COS and TCS and is a CPM candidate with the Institute of Real Estate Management. Chris sits on the board of directors for Community Concepts.

Travis Heynen joined Lewiston Housing as the deputy executive director in early 2020. His responsibilities include oversight of the property management department. Travis has 15 years of experience in the affordable housing industry. Before joining Lewiston Housing, he led the property management division at Avesta Housing. He was responsible for the management, maintenance, and resident services of nearly 100 properties throughout southern Maine and New Hampshire. Before that, he managed a statewide voucher program for people living with mental illness in Maine.

Travis has a master’s degree in public policy and management from the Muskie School of Public Service at the University of Southern Maine. He is also a certified property manager (CPM) from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). He participates on several volunteer committees for United Way of Greater Portland, SPACE, and Maine Real Estate Managers Association. He also sat on the inaugural Rental Housing Advisory Committee for the City of Portland.

Director of Property Management and Rental Assistance

Hollie Sprague joined Lewiston Housing in 2021 as the director of property management and rental assistance. Her responsibilities include day-to-day oversight of property management, resident services, rental assistance, and maintenance operations, emphasizing quality control, and capital planning. Hollie started her career in affordable housing at Avesta Housing, where she worked for 14 years in various roles ranging from resident service coordination, site management, regional management, director of real estate operations, and most recently, the director of property management.

Hollie is a Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS), Low-Income Tax Credit Compliance Specialist (TaCCs), and Certified Manager of Housing (CMH). She earned her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from the University of Southern Maine.

Maintenance Manager

Ray Berube has worked at Lewiston Housing for ten years. He started as a maintenance mechanic and most recently was promoted to his current role as maintenance manager. Mr. Berube has experience regarding all aspects of maintenance in the properties Lewiston Housing manages. He is one of the most experienced maintenance personnel at Lewiston Housing and provides leadership and guidance to other maintenance personnel. He leads unit turns and is responsible for monitoring emergency work orders. Before working for Lewiston Housing, Mr. Berube was a mason.
