Lewiston Housing is developing new senior apartments at the former Martel School site through a three-phase project. Phase I will include 44 one-bedroom units for seniors age 55 and older with incomes at or below 50% of Area Median Income, all supported by HUD Project-Based Vouchers. The building will feature community gathering spaces, outdoor seating areas, on-site parking, and a management office suite. Construction is expected to begin in early 2026, with occupancy anticipated in 2027. Phase II will add an additional 44 units with the same age and income restrictions and is expected to begin construction in late 2026. Lewiston Housing looks forward to sharing updates as the project moves forward.
Martel is owned by Lewiston Auburn Area Housing Development Corp. and managed by Lewiston Housing. Residents will have access to our resident services team and community resources.
