Family Self-Sufficiency Program
The Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program is designed to empower families and individuals by offering tailored goals, resources, and financial incentives to achieve financial stability. Our program focuses on employment, career growth, education, skill development, self-reliance from public assistance, homeownership, and credit preparedness.
As an FSS participant, when your rental contribution rises due to higher earned income, Lewiston Housing sets aside a portion of the rent difference in a dedicated escrow savings account for you. Upon successful completion of the FSS program, eligible families can access these saved funds for a brighter financial future.
I am a single mother, and before I got on your program, the only bill I could pay is rent. Sometimes I couldn’t even do that. Your program gave a lot of help and support to start picking up my life and putting my priorities in order.

We are continuously taking applications for the FSS program. If you are a Public Housing resident or a Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) participant and would like more information, please contact us.
