Lewiston Housing helps more than 1,200 families find safe, stable, and affordable homes through the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program in Lewiston, Greene, Lisbon, Lisbon Falls, and Sabattus.
With an HCV voucher, families can choose the home and neighborhood that works best for them. Vouchers can be used with private landlords across the community, giving participants flexibility and choice. Most households pay about 30% of their monthly income toward rent, and Lewiston Housing pays the rest directly to the landlord.
Applicants must meet HUD income guidelines, and all units must pass a Housing Quality Standards inspection to ensure they’re safe and in good condition. We value our partnerships with local property owners and welcome landlords who want to provide quality housing in our community.
